Zimbabwe Youth Movement formed |

13 April 2007 Press Statement from ZYM.
The Zimbabwe youth movement was born at the
end of 2006 with the sole purpose of becoming the voice of the youth
in Zimbabwe and uniting it to make a difference as social cluster. it
is largely made up of former student leaders from across the country
who have been either expelled or suspended fighting the ruthless
regime of Robert Mugabe.
Briefly, the ZYM seeks to address the
interests of the youth with respect to current socio-economic and
political crisis in Zimbabwe and belive that the youth movement has
been a missing link in the socio political body of this nation. had
there been a vibrant and united youth all along Zimbabwe would not be
in this mess.
we intend , in the short term to to join
arms with pro democratic forces in liberating our great nation and
when attained to be the watchdog of democratic fundamentals of our
society. we also intend to come up with a youth charter that will
become tha rallying poitn and covenant of all our future endeavours as
a youth. change is certain and we shall not tire! Currently we have
set up chapters in Masvingo, Bulawayo, Mutare, Chitungwiza and Harare.
We boast of more than 500 members at present and will ever be growing!
We have managed to secure the support and
solidarity of most if not all youth organisations in Zimbabwe and are
working on a youth convention billed for June.
