Benjani splashes on Cadillac Escalade

WARRIORS captain and Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari has bought a £65,000 Cadillac Escalade to add to his already impressive fleet of luxury vehicles, reports from England said last week.

The Zimbabwe captain took delivery of the American-made motor at his new £1,8 million mansion in Manchester where he has moved in with his wife, Thembi and two children – Belle and Benjani (Jnr).
Despite moving to Manchester, Benjani has kept his £2,1 million house in an exclusive area of Bournemouth where he lived during his time at Portsmouth.

Benjani’s new gas guzzler takes pride of space in his luxury fleet, which includes a BMW M6, a Hummer, a VW Touareg, a BMW X5 and a Range Rover. Some of the cars are kept at the striker’s properties in South Africa and Bulawayo.

Meanwhile, the Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari has explained his goal celebration that has been a subject of much debate and misinterpretation on football blogs and forums.
It all started, says the 30-year-old striker, from watching an episode of American Idol with his former Portsmouth teammate Kanu.

“There was this Mexican guy who had problems speaking in English,” he remembers. “So after he had been voted to go through to the next round, he just pointed at three sections of the crowd and said ‘It’s for you, you and you’. Then moving his hands across, he said: ‘It’s for everyone’.”

After a little variation by Kanu, Benjani says, the celebration was ready to be used for every goal either of the pair scored.
“Now it’s my trademark celebration,” says the £60,000-a-week striker who has recovered from an early season thigh injury.
