UK based journalist Brilliant Pongo has been appointed as the official spokesman for Nehanda Radio outside the country.
While it remains difficult for members of the organisation operating in Zimbabwe to come out in the open, owing to repressive legislation, Pongo will now lead all the administrative, advertising and editorial issues that need interaction with the public.
Making the announcement Fortune Tazvida, the Chief Editor said it was important for members of the public to have a face they could interact with. Even our advertisers will now find it easier to discuss their needs with us.
The move coincides with Nehanda Radio bursting onto the Top 10 Zimbabwean news websites on the Alexa Traffic Index.
‘Its now clear we have to move up a gear to meet our customers requirements and Pongo’s appointment is a step forward in that direction.’
Listeners to the station will already be familiar with Pongo’s popular Growth Point Starter Pack music show and many other programmes he has already produced.
