27 August 2008 By Staff Reporter A failed Zimbabwean asylum seeker was jailed for 40 months, minus the 136 days he had already spent in custody after he was caught with a bag full of crack cocaine valued at £100 000. Thirty-year old Raymond Sapezeka admitted possessing the class A drug with intent to supply and was sentenced by the Stoke on Trent Crown Court in the United Kingdom. Police raided Sapezeka’s home in Chorlton Road, Birches Head, on April 6 this year. In passing judgment Judge Ross Duggan said, “You are a man of good character and I understand the circumstances of your situation in the UK. In those circumstances it’s easy to see how you fell into the temptation you did, but what you did was serious.” There is now a possibility the UK government will seek Sapezeka’s deportation once he is released.
